Brutal Chess is a chess program, in which you can play chess on a three-dimensional ground with 3D characters. Various levels of computer opponents of varying difficulty make the game exciting and interesting. The developers of the open source program have been inspired by Battle Chess, which was developed in 1988 by Interplay.
The game uses OpenGL and can therefor be slow on slow computers or systems that do not support OpenGL. You can disable reflections and shadows in the game which makes the presentation a little faster. Simply press the ESC key in the game to enter the menu for this.
