The JavaScript library Dojo Toolkit provides a large amount of functionality and simplifications to quickly and easily build up comprehensive Ajax and JavaScript applications for the Web. The Dojo Toolkit is modular and offers many features including interactive charts and tables, or to design graphical user interfaces visible in the browser. An interaction can take place with the Ajax technology, without reloading the page.

Graphical components

Under the name Dijit, Dojo provides many graphical components such as menus, tabs, animations, check boxes, dialogs, drag and drop functions, calendar, html editors, tool tips, buttons or sliders. These are modules build with JavaScript, CSS and HTML and can easily be assembled into a  graphical user interface. This allows the programming of a web application, that is alomost indistinguishable from a desktop application. A demo of some of the available components can be seen on the website.

Grids and charts

Dojo also provides possibilities to display tables and charts. So, it is very easy to display datasets as tables or grids, that can be sorted or searched by the users or you can create interactive charts, which can be influenced immediately. Dojo provides lots of functions to store data on the server as well as on the computer of the client.
