The educational software GCompris is a collection of over 100 different activities for kids and primary school children aged from 2 to 1

years. Examples of activities are collecting experiences with the computer (mouse, keyboard), order the countries correctly in a map, games like chess, memory, Sudoku or Connect Four, exercises for reading, scientific educational games, algebra exercises, exercises to learn the clock and much more. Most of the activities are packed into games, so that kids can learn by playing with this software.

Limited features for Windows and Mac

The program is available in over 50 languages ​​and for different operating systems. The version for Linux includes all 100 activities, the Windows and Mac version is limited. In this way the developers want to promote Linux. Windows and Mac users can still use the full version on their system. However, they have to donate something.

Origin of the name

The name GCompris has its origin in French. Here j´ai compris means I have understood.
