Maybe, you know it: Again and again, you get videos that can not be played on your computer. The usual error message: Codec not known. Video players like Windows Media Player and Co require an installed video codec to play the video. Apart from the fact that it is a lot of work to find all the codecs you need, you should not have to start looking after each codec individually (as well as the tutorial "Beware of video codecs" shows). Because it's much easier.
The Solution: VLC Media Player
The simple solution is to simply install the VLC media player. You can download the player here. The advantage of the player is as simple as ingenious: The player uses his own internal codecs, so the codecs installed on your computer are not even affected. And the included codecs are not too tight. In practice, you will hardly find a video that can not be played with the program.
