Inkscape is a free and open source program for editing vector graphics. It is a functional equivalent to commercial products such as Corel Draw, Macromedia Freehand or Adobe Illustrator.
With the vector-based graphics editor, you can create two-dimensional logos, charts, maps, icons, comics, lettering and more like that. The software can create shapes, paths and texts, edit layers, perform path operations, you can use bitmap tracing, diagrams with mobile connections and object surrounding texts.
Supported file types
An import of formats such as PostScript, EPS, JPEG, BMP, PNG and TIFF is possiblea and you can export various vector-based formats or PNG files.
The program supports the Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) standard of the World Wide Web Consortium for describing vector graphics. SVG files are written in the XML format and saved as text file so that they can be edited by a normal text editor.
If you are using the "Download" button, you get two download links for this program. The first one is the installer version, the second one a portable version which can be used withot installation.
