Microsoft Security Essentials is a free anti-virus program from Microsoft, which replaces the programs Microsoft Windows Live OneCare and Windows Defender. Microsoft Security Essentials integrates perfectly into the Windows operating system and is otherwise characterized by a high conservation of resources, so that the program can also be used on netbooks and low-performance computers. A heuristic detection of malicious software makes it also possible to identify novel viruses. In addition, there are daily updates of the virus database, which keep the program up to date.
