The free Open Source program Scribus is a desktop publishing program and offers similar functionality as the software solutions Adobe InDesign, Adobe PageMaker or QuarkXPress. Scribus can create professional layouts and printing templates for your publications.

Features include a sophisticated color management, the ability to create vector drawings and a comprehensive support for the popular PDF format. PDF documents can be imported and exported and the PDF/X standard is supported by the program.
