Spy-Bot Search & Destroy (S&D) is a powerful tool to remove spyware and adware from your computer. A regularly updated database helps to stay up to date. The program runs in the background and you can manually run a scan to check the entire computer. If the program is running in the background, you will be notified by warnings each time the program has discovered something.

In addition to the detection of spyware and adware, the program has many other functions. For example, it can be used to monitor the registry, view and remove cookies and other malicious programs like keyloggers. Even a file shreder is on board

The program is not designed to replace a virus scanner - you should have installed one additionaly - but still it can also detect some known Trojans.
