The first-person shooter Sauerbraten or Cube 2 is the sequel to Cube. As in the previous version, you can also play in Cube 2/Sauerbraten in a single player mode as well as in a multiplayer mode over the Internet and the game is similar to classics such as Quake and Doom. Simultaneously, Cube 2 is also the improved independent Open Source 3D Game Engine, which builds the basis of the graphics of the game like it is also in the first version of the game. The game includes a variety of maps and was musically accompanied by Marc A. Pullen with Metal. A special feature of the game is a level editor that can be used during the game.

Unlike the old version, the single-player mode now includes four different modes. The multiplayer mode features 12 different modes like the modes of other known ego-shooters. A special feature is the mode "Coop-Edit" in which it is possible for the players to change and edit the map live in realtime.
